Merries Walker Pants review

I think it was sometime in Q1 2012 that Merries started advertising on TV. The 'Smile, Smile Merries' jingle was so catchy that I found it in my head throughout the day. The ad mentioned free samples on their website, which I quickly logged on and requested for the tape diaper option.

1st impression of the tape diaper:

  • Too thin, it didn't look reliable enough to last through the night
  • Looks soft and comfy
It was also about this time that tape diapers were giving us a headache because P wriggled too much during her diaper change. We were seriously contemplating replacing all her tape diapers with walker pants. So one day, when I passed by NTUC @ AMK Hub, I saw that Merries was having a contest. If you purchase 2 packs of diapers, you will get a chance to win NTUC vouchers (I can't recall the prize value, but it should be quite substantial for me to even contemplate trying). In addition, I would get 2 free trial passes to Gymboree. So, I bought 2 packs of walker pants with the try-it-out-and-i-want-the-freebies mentality, and I haven't looked back since.

Being a newly launched brand, Merries went on the offensive when it comes to promotions. They were having promotions almost every month, and soon I found my storeroom stocking up with Merries.

1. Merries bunny (5 packs needed to obtain the logo from the packaging)
2. Little Lady Bug Potty Partner ($150 of Merries purchase required to get this)
3. Diapers (I did a survey for them, and got 1 pack)
There were also some promotions that I didn't manage to get because the storeroom is bursting with stock, but I have to admit their freebies have the cute factor. I really wonder if they are aiming mommies whose babies are born in the year of the rabbit, haha.

The quality of the walker pants is good. It doesn't seem as thin as its tape counterparts, and most importantly, it can last P at least 12 hours and doesn't give her any diaper rash. Top it up with ongoing promotions, what can I say, I'm a convert!
